Achievements
Education Centre
The Sebakwe Conservation and Education Centre was built in 2003 in conjunction with WEZ (Wildlife and Environment Zimbabwe). The centres purpose is to provide:
Diverse and unique environmental educational experiences for schools, colleges and universities
Promote environmental conservation research through partnerships with local and international colleges and universities
Promote the involvement of local communities in environmental conservation and management issues
Capacity building training workshops for local communities on conservation and development issues
ABOUT SBRT
The Trust was formed in 1989 and has raised GB£ 500,000 (over US$ 1,000,000) thanks to the generosity of many individuals and groups who have made donations to help prevent the extinction of the black rhino.
Objectives
To help establish and secure a black rhino conservancy in the Midlands regions of Zimbabwe in southern Africa, where a breeding group of rhino could be established under free and natural conditions but fully protected from poachers.
